Adelanto Grand Prix FAQ
If you don't see your question here, you can also check the Message Board for Adelanto questions and answers.
(entries) - 1. How can I enter to race Adelanto?
You can enter by mailing in an entry form with your payment or enter on race weekend. Pre Entry is open from Dec 1 - Feb 1. Entry forms can be found at your local motorcycle shop or can be downloaded from the DVMC website. Detailed entry instructions can be found on the entry forms themselves or on this site.

(entries) - 2. Do you have to join DVMC, AMA, D37 or any other organization to race?
No. Membership to an organization is not required. Adelanto is a race geared towards fun with family and friends, especially those who only come out and race once a year. We only require the applicable entry fee for the races you enter and that you be courteous to other racers and spectators.

(entries) - 3. Can 250 4 strokes enter the 125 class or 450's enter the 250?
No. Classes that have bike size limits at Adelanto are absolute. Your bike must fit into the range specified for the event regardless if it's a 2 stroke or 4 stroke. If we allow different sized 4 strokes, those are noted. Why? Unlike a motocross event, Adelanto's course includes many wide open sections giving the larger 4 strokes the advantage when racers leave the motocross section.

(entries) - 4. Do minors need a parent or legal guardian to sign for them?
Yes. Minors (under 18) will need to have their parent or legal guardian sign a release at sign ups on race weekend in order to receive numbers to race.

(entries) - 5. How do I confirm my pre-entries were received?
You need to include a self addressed stamped envelope with your pre entry. You will get a simple reply stating that your entries were received. If you do not include an envelope you will only be able to tell by us cashing your check. The mail in entries go through an extensive process of verification and data entry. Different club members enter the data from their stacks of entry forms throughout the pre-entry period. During this time, it is not feasible for us to get back to emails and phone calls asking "was my entry received and is everything ok?" It is a little more feasible to do so after pre entry closes and all databases are merged and easily searchable.

(race weekend) - 1. Is there play riding at the AGP?
Due to the increasing crowd size and amount of play riding in recent years, play riding will be restricted. Problem areas in recent years have been the vendor area, camping area, and the densely populated motocross section. Banners will be posted as a reminder and officials will ensure that play riding does not occur in sensitive areas surrounding the course. We are asking for the racers and spectators of this event to use their best judgment to keep the Adelanto Grand Prix a safe and enjoyable event to attend. For questions relating to this issue along with other AGP issues, please contact us.

(race weekend) - 2. Does the Kids/PeeWee event use the entire course?
No. The Kids race about half of the motocross section keeping them close for viewing and safety. The PeeWee event runs on its own short circle track where family and friends can watch & supervise while they ride. The Kids and PeeWee events start separately and are completely divided from each other.

(race weekend) - 3. Can I use my own numbers?
No. You must use the numbers issued to you at sign ups on race weekend. They are specially formatted for accurate scoring. They cannot be modified or divided in any way and must be displayed on number plates. If you ride a quad, you'll need to make sure you can fit all of your numbers in one location on the front and side areas. Detailed instructions will be available on race weekend

(race weekend) - 4. How much gas do I need to run a race?
Each race except for the Pro and Team races are scheduled to run about 45 minutes. The course is generally 7-9 miles long for most races. The Vintage/Classic/Dual Sport, Kids, and PeeWees run reduced courses. A stock tank is run by most racers. The Pro and Team races run 1 hour plus one lap on the full course. You will have to run a larger tank or fuel during your pit stops/rider changes if you can't run this long on a stock tank.
